Portland style, shopping, trends.
Saks is back! Well, kind of. Saks Fifth Avenue may have bailed from downtown Portland this summer, but the high-end department store will open one of its more than 50 Saks OFF 5th off-price bargain outlet shops at Bridgeport Village today.
Saks OFF 5th has gathered a loyal following among frugal fashionistas since opening its first store in 1992, and now Portland shoppers will find out why. Check out more than $100 million worth of deliveries to the new store, a 28,0000 square-foot loft-like space housing world-class designers and some exclusive Saks private-label collections.
Even better, the store opening coincides with the big Labor Day sale weekend, so now through Tuesday, Sept. 7 you’ll save an extra 25 percent on already marked down Saks merch (think designer sportswear, shoes, handbags, jewelry and beauty items), and save an extra 50 percent on clearance items.
And we don’t need to tell you this, but we will: While you’re checking out the new Saks store this weekend, also be sure to scope out the Labor Day sales taking place at shops throughout the mall. We’re talking Anthropologie, Mario’s 3.10, American Apparel and more.
