Signs of a scrapbook addict

OK…I’m a scrapbooker.  I don’t think that makes me all that different from any other mom.  But, for some reason, my husband disagrees.  I just thought I’d take a quick poll and see if maybe there are a few people out there who might be able to help me change his mind.

So, my first question is a simple one.  Doesn’t everyone buy their kids’ clothes to match “that really cool new paper collection from ‘Blah Blah Designs’”?

Now here’s question two.  Doesn’t everyone have their photos printed in sepia tone if for some strange reason the clothes don’t match their papers?

And know that I know you’re in this with me, I have one last question.  Doesn’t everyone have a scrapbook that outweighs their child by the time the kid turns one?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  I knew you’d agree, I’m nowhere near crazy!  I know there are some of you out there (you’re in the minority, I just know it!) who wonder what the heck sepia tone is of why you should care, tune in another time.  I’ll get to that eventually, in another of my musings….

Well here is an addiction I had never even thought of.

Once you start you cannot get off. You see, the scrapbooking wolrd gets you into the idea that anything in life can be made better and more beautiful with a little pizzaz here and there. It may start out as photo albums but it then expands to cover your diary, your Christmas cards, birthday cards, hand written notes, letters, holiday notes, and then you start inventing reasons to send people things just so you can pass on the exciting colors and designs you just bought. Once you know you can spice up the things in your life — where does one end?

Sephia Tone? Sounds like I am missing out on something good here.

My Dad helps my Mom with her “addiction.” She’ll drive around to several places to get just the right decorations.

I think I’m a paper addict. I love the textures and colors! Some so much I don’t really want to use them.

I love your article! It’s so true. Tell your hubby he’s not alone and that he can feel secure that there are many other hubbies out there who share his thoughts. Perhaps we’re all crazy? LOL

I stay as far away from stacks of papers as possible. So, I’m with your husband on this one. But, I’ll tell you one thing, you’re kids will love you for it. What treasures for them to look back on. Good job, Mom!

So glad to hear some of you are in this with me! I’d pass on my husband’s number to the rest of you…but he doesn’t need any encouragement! :) Nice to meet all of you, I’ll be back with some more musings of a crazy scrapbooker soon. In the meantime, stop by my blog & say hi!

Scrapbook supplies must come before the clothes, food, and most anything else. Sometimes I have to come up with ideas so I can use my papers. So I make a mini book. I have a rabbit collection, (you know how they multiply?) so I made a mini book with photos to keep up with the collection….Easter right? come on crazy? Addicted maybe a little.:)
